How to Put Product Photos on a White Background

Build a consistent product image while keeping the item accurate and checking the requirements of its destination.

Start with a photo that describes the product

A white background gives a catalog a consistent surface, but it cannot repair an out-of-focus product, recover a cropped handle, or correct misleading colors. Photograph the complete item in even light. Leave room around the object so an edge is not confused with the image border. Keep the original file for comparison.

Create the white-background version

  1. Open Background Remover and add a JPG, PNG or WebP using click to choose or drag and drop. Free accepts files up to 25 MB each and batches of five.
  2. When the result appears, choose Compare. Check that logos, straps, handles and openings survived removal. A smooth white rectangle is not useful if the product itself has been altered.
  3. Under Background, select White. Check for a pale outline or leftover floor around the item. White-on-white products can be hard to separate, so inspect those boundaries carefully.
  4. Under Export size, choose Original size, Square 1:1, or Custom for specific dimensions. The free square is 1080 × 1080. Read Final size before export.
  5. Select Download JPG for an opaque photo or Download PNG if your workflow needs PNG. Reopen the file and compare its product shape, background and dimensions with the intended listing.

Choose the canvas for the destination

A square canvas can help a product grid look consistent. Glimbench fits the entire source image inside the selected canvas without stretching or cropping. Existing space in the source remains part of that layout, so a tiny product in a large photo may still look small. Crop your source carefully in an editor for a different composition; the tool has no manual subject-positioning control.

Pro includes E-commerce preset options labeled for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and eBay. They supply a canvas size, white fill and margin. Treat them as starting layouts. Marketplace rules vary by platform, image type and category, and can change. A preset does not certify that an image meets every listing requirement or guarantee platform acceptance.

Check the platform rules and the actual file

Before uploading, confirm the destination’s current guidance on background color, minimum dimensions, product coverage, text, logos and additional objects. Do not assume every Etsy or Shopify image must have a white background, or that one square size works everywhere. Glimbench changes the background and canvas; you remain responsible for accurate product presentation.

AI edges can fail on transparent packaging, reflective surfaces, fur and low-contrast products. Glimbench has no erase or restore brush. A supported Pro device can try the High-quality model, which needs WebGPU and downloads about 115 MB, but the result still needs inspection. For an important listing, repair damaged details in a masking editor or photograph the item again.
